Since then, HubSpot has continued to expand its AI ecosystem, refine how credits apply, and introduce new features that rely on the credit system.

As of 2025, several updates have been released to improve clarity, make usage easier to track, and support the rollout of new AI tools across the Customer Platform. This guide breaks down the key changes, which features consume credits today, how credits are allocated, and the controls you can use to stay within budget.

 

 

A Quick Recap: What HubSpot Credits Are

HubSpot Credits are a usage-based billing model that powers HubSpot’s AI-driven and high-volume features. Instead of paying for multiple add-ons, credits allow teams to access AI capabilities on demand using a shared monthly pool.

Credits are:

  • Included with most paid HubSpot subscriptions (Starter and above)
  • Reset monthly - unused credits do not roll over
  • Scalable - you can purchase additional credit packs or pay overages if needed
  • Unified across the platform, from AI agents to data processing features

Which HubSpot Features Now Use Credits?

Below is the updated list of features that use HubSpot Credits today, based on HubSpot’s official Credits Rate Sheet.  This reflects usage as of early 2025 and may expand as new AI tools move out of beta.

Important: Basic CRM data enrichment (standard company insights) does not consume credits. AI-driven enrichment features — such as Buyer Intent, Prospecting deep research, Breeze workflow actions and Data Studio do consume credits.
 

1. Breeze Agents (Production)

These AI agents perform tasks using CRM data and are fully credit-metered:

2. Breeze Automation (Workflows)

AI-powered workflow actions use credits whenever triggered.

This includes actions such as inferring ICP, identifying buyer needs, summarising data, and other AI-driven workflow steps.

 

3. Buyer Intent

HubSpot’s Buyer Intent (Intent Signals) identifies companies actively engaging with your content or showing purchase interest.

4. Prospecting Agent: Credit Usage Overview

The Prospecting Agent provides AI-driven research, qualification, and outreach assistance for sales teams.
 

The following Prospecting Agent features consume credits:

The following Prospecting Agent features do not consume credits:

  • Daily contact research limits

  • Configuring email cadence, tone, and rules
  • Monitoring open rates, replies and meetings
This distinction is important: the research is what consumes credits, not outreach delivery or reporting.
 
 

5. Data Studio (Beta)

Data Studio allows users to sync, transform and move large datasets between systems.

6. Data Agent (Beta)

The Data Agent uses AI to generate responses or enrich information related to individual records.

7. Beta Features (Currently Free)

Many Breeze Studio Agents and new AI assistants are still in beta and do not currently consume credits, except for the agents listed above.
 
Breeze Marketplace ShowcaseBreeze Studio offers a wide variety of Agents. These agents and assistants are currently in beta and don't use credits. In the future, they may require HubSpot credits.

How to Identify Credit-Based Tools Inside Your HubSpot Portal

HubSpot marks all credit-consuming (or soon-to-consume) features with the HubSpot Credits icon.
This allows you to scan your portal quickly to understand which actions affect your monthly allocation.

New Credit Allocations by Subscription Tier

HubSpot now provides a single monthly credit allocation based on your highest subscription tier.
This means:
  • Credits are not added together across different hubs
  • Your account receives the allowance for your highest product tier

Managing Additional Credits

HubSpot offers several ways to stay in control.

 

1. Capacity Packs (Additional Credits)

You can purchase extra credits in 1,000-credit increments, at:

If you exceed your included credits, HubSpot automatically adds capacity packs unless you choose to pay for overages or set a credit cap.

 

2. Overage Pricing (Pay-As-You-Go)

Overages allow you to pay for extra usage without upgrading.
  • Charged per 10 credits
  • Rate varies by currency
  • €0.010 per credit (EUR example)
  • Billed at the end of the month
Overages preserve your original committed credit level.

 

3. Credit Limit Setting (Credit Caps)

HubSpot now allows Super Admins to set a monthly cap on credit usage. This helps organisations prevent unexpected charges by pausing credit-consuming features once the limit is reached.
When a credit cap is reached:
  • Breeze actions in workflows pause
  • Buyer Intent monitoring pauses
  • Prospecting Agent research pauses
  • Data Agent/Data Studio actions pause
  • No automatic upgrades occur (unless you explicitly enable them)
Admins can:
  • Set a monthly ceiling on usage
  • Decide whether overages are allowed
  • Choose whether additional capacity packs can be added automatically
  • This control lets teams experiment with AI features without worrying about runaway usage or accidental spending.

 

An admin can set a limit on the credits you can use in a month in your Account settings.

1. Do credits roll over?

No. Credits reset monthly, and unused credits do not roll over.

2. Can I use credits across different tools?

Yes, credits apply to all usage-based features across your account.

3. Who can use credit-consuming tools?

Any user with a paid seat (Sales, Service, Commerce, Core, etc.).
Free and view-only users cannot consume credits.

4. What happens if I exceed my limit?

Depending on your configuration:

  • You may automatically add credit packs
  • You may pay overages
  • Credit-based features may pause if a cap is set

5. How can I see what uses credits?

Look for the HubSpot Credits icon beside eligible tools and actions.
